This month, among the dogs that we have taken into rescue, two lovely pups have needed surgery straight away.

Meli, the 18-week-old American Bulldog pup, came to us as an abuse case, who arrived with a badly broken front leg.  Upon examination, it was confirmed that this was a non-accidental injury.  We were hoping our vet could save her leg but, unfortunately, it was just too badly damaged and had to be amputated.  Meli is now on crate rest and recovering in foster.

Tilly, the tiny Jack Russell was found to have a hernia in her groin which needed immediate surgery.  We were very concerned about her, as anaesthetic on such a very small pup carries a great risk.  With the excellent care of our vets, she came through the operation OK and is also on crate rest and recovering in foster.
