Please meet Podge, who some of you may remember came into our care over a month ago. At 4 years old she was very overweight and was immediately sent on Futures For Dogs’ boot camp diet, much to her disgust. As she has lost weight, she has become a fun active funny girl. She is also now being walked and socialised, although not always fond of some dogs when out and about and will bark at them but this is being worked on, as nobody likes a yappy dog and it is not surprising, as she has not been out in the big wide world. She does love her new adventures though. She is in foster with other dogs and loves a game of chase with them and is becoming so active. She is house and crate trained and can be left for a couple of hours but would prefer that you were with her, as she also likes to follow you around and be part of what you are doing if the other dogs have had enough of playing. She adores her cuddles and fuss. She has not lived with small furries or cats and is not fond of younger children.
Podge is looking for active older family, children 12+ who will treat her as a dog and not a carry round dress up doll. She will need a secure garden and new owners must not be out at work for hours on end. New owners must be prepared to continue with her training and socialisation out and about. She would make a fab companion / playmate for another dog.
